Minister of Sport Vincenzo Spadafora has revealed stadiums in Serie A will gradually reopen from October 8.
In Serie A Week 1, the government allowed 1,000 people to enter the stadiums in the top tier and the Minister of Sport has revealed they are working to ‘gradually’ increase the number next month.
“Right now, we can’t go beyond 1,000 people,” Spadafora said at a hearing at the culture committee. “But starting from October 8, when the new decree will be launched, we will do everything possible to reopen stadiums.
“We will work closely with Conferenza-Stato-Regioni, evalutating all aspects, such as the flow of people at the entrance and the exit.
“At this moment, when many countries have a very high number of infections, we aim not to match them and therefore it was not possible to open the stadium to more people.”
