Brescia have decided to sack coach Diego Lopez and Daniele Gastaldello takes over on temporarily at the Stadio Mario Rigamonti.
Patron Massimo Cellino brought Lopez back to the Rondinelle in October, as he sacked Luigi Delneri, but the Uruguayan has not been able to turn things around.
Brescia, who were relegated for Serie A with Lopez at the helm last season, are 14th in Serie B after nine games and a run of three consecutive defeats cost him the job.
“Brescia Calcio announce the dismissal of Diego Lopez and his assistant, Michele Fini,” a statement read.
“The club thanks both of them for their work. The technical leadership of the first team is temporarily entrusted to Daniele Gastaldello, who will be assisted by Marco Barbieri. They will lead the Rondinelle starting from tromorrow’s match against Cremonese.”
Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims Davide Dionig is the favourite to get the vacant position.
