AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has said his team’s contentious last-minute penalty against Udinese at the San Siro was “owed”.
The Rossoneri were given the spot kick which gave them a 2-1 victory over the Zebrette and the former Italian prime minister admits it was a soft award.
“The decision was very doubtful, but it was a pleasure for all Milan fans to get the decision.”
Milan’s winning goal came from new €22 million signing Mario Balotelli.
It was his second strike on a impressive debut and Berlusconi was clearly delighted with the immediate impact his January purchase made.
He added: “Balotelli? I could not sleep after his goals.”
