The striker posted a heartfelt message about the place of his birth on Instagram… only to be told by commentators that he posted a picture of a different city

Aww, this is nice. Mario Balotelli has paid tribute to the city of his birth Palermo with a heartfelt post on Instragram… but there’s one problem: the attached photo is not of Palermo.
The striker is set to return to his home town with AC Milan on Wednesday and posted a picture on the social media site, writing: “I love the city where I was born!!! Palermo” followed by a footballer’s favourite form of communication, the emoji.
However, commentators were quick to point out that the picture was not actually of Palermo but of Cefalu. Balotelli quickly amended his caption with: “(It’s still a photo of Sicily)”
