The Liverpool striker is set to complete a season-long loan switch, having been frozen out of Brendan Rodgers’ plans
Mario Balotelli has arrived for a medical with AC Milan as the Liverpool misfit edges closer to the Anfield exit door.
Milan launched an initial bid on Sunday to bring the former Inter man back to San Siro on a season-long loan deal.
And the Serie A giants have now confirmed that the striker has arrived in Italy to complete the formalities of his switch.
A short statement on Milan’s official website read: “At 8.26 this morning, Mario Balotelli has reached the La Madonnina clinic for medical examinations provided for today.”
Balotelli – who scored just one Premier League goal last season – left Milan for Liverpool in a deal worth £16 million last August.
The Italy international has already been warned by Milan CEO Adriano Galliani that he is being given a final chance to prove his worth.
“Balotelli convinced us to get him back,” he said. “He is aware that we are giving him his very last chance.”
