The striker comes back into the starting line-up after his goal against Swansea City while the Magpies are boosted by the return of Papiss Cisse to fitness
Brendan Rodgers has named Mario Balotelli in his starting line-up as Liverpool take on Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
The Italy international has yet to score in the Premier League since his summer move from AC Milan but was on target after coming off the bench in midweek as Liverpool beat Swansea in the League Cup.
He will again be utilised as a lone striker, with Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini left on the bench.
Steven Gerrard and Raheem Sterling – who were both rested against the Swans – are recalled to the Reds line-up while Glen Johnson is preferred to Javier Manquillo at right-back.
Newcastle, meanwhile, are able to call upon Papiss Cisse after the striker missed out on the victories over Tottenham and Manchester City while Sammy Ameobi is handed a start after his goal at White Hart Lane.
Ayoze Perez also found the net in north London, but he is only named on the bench alongside fellow youngster Rolando Aarons and Ryan Taylor.
