De La: ‘I had no symptoms’

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis, who has tested positive for COVID-19, insists he ‘had no symptoms’ prior to the Lega Serie A Assembly.

The Partenopei announced on Thursday that the patron had tested positive for coronavirus and he was accused of having put the others unnecessarily at risk.

The report from La Repubblica claimed the Napoli chief had symptoms for several days and had taken the test without waiting for the results before attending the 20-club meeting in Milan.

“If I had imagined I could have COVID, I would never have travelled,” De Laurentiis told La Repubblica. “I had no symptoms.”

Serie A 2020-21 is scheduled to kick off on September 19 and all those who attended the Lega Serie A summit will have to be tested and potentially self-isolate as a precaution.
